ABOUT OUR FAMILY TEAM
We have been in the pet care business for twenty plus yeas and operating in Sarasota since 1985 servicing animals as a family owned and operated business. We started almost by accident when raising exotic birds and running an adoption service for them. Over time, our friends and family who knew how much we loved animals came to rely on us when they were out of town or working late. They knew their animals would be safe and happy in our care and that they could be away from home without worry about the non-human family members. Our business grew by word of mouth and has become a full time endeavor, so you might say we are “organically grown.”
The matriarch of the team who has lived in Sarasota since 1971, Kemberly, who was raised on small farm type venues by her Granny, led to her love, knowledge and calling to help animals of all types. She is a non smoker and a non drinker. Through the years she has cared for big time Tennessee show horses, raised the exotic birds and dealt with farm type animals. During the years raising exotic birds, was when she learn the medical talent she has by working with a Aviary Vet in Bradenton and other people in the area of exotic birds. So medical shots and treatments are no problem for her. Her past history prior pet care included sales, managerial sales, caregiver of small children, a paralegal and office manager. Terry, her husband was born, raised and lived in the country life of Tennessee until the summer of 1977 until they married. With this being said – there is probably no non-human creature they do not know something about, which resulted in the whole family learning also. Their son Terry Jr., of 20 years, does the overnights stays. There is always a house full of pets of all types in their home. It has been the place now for years that friends know where to take animals that need a new home – they will find new homes for them or adopt them into their own family. Terry, Kemberly's husband of 38 years and works out of the home, takes care of the pets that stay in their home while the pet's parents are on vacation and will do simple handy work - care for the client's that are away on vacation to their home if needed. We only take in one set of family pets at a time. There is not much they cannot handle when it comes to taking care of your pets or home. Our current feathers and fur family members at this time are Fluffy a 5 yr old Doberman, Boo Boo a 6 lb. Yorkeranian and Duke a Blue Front Amazon. With the experience we have, all pets including those with special needs, the elderly, the sick and the exotics will be safe and happy in your absence. Please be advised, we have abundant references and they can be provided at the get acquainted meeting (most of our clients are on their second to third set of pets due to the longevity with us). Feel free to contact us with any questions or to set up a get acquainted meeting.
Due to liability insurance requirements, we will not take certain pets if they have bitten another pet or human. Any and all aggressiveness needs to be discussed and full discloser given.
